Concours International du Carrefour

The EPM International Contest is an exceptional showcase for quilters from all over the world.

The European Patchwork Meeting organizers come up with a theme every autumn. The result is a new edition of the contest, open to all quilt enthusiasts. Several months of imagination and creation are required for each participant to create his or her work before registering in the spring.

Three judges then analyze all the works based on photos and make a selection of the 30 quilts that best represent the year’s theme. This selection then premieres in September at EPM. The awards ceremony is then held officially with numerous prizes revealed: grand prize, public prizewinner, organization prize and various sponsor prizes.

After this launch, an exciting 10-month journey awaits the 30 works in the world’s finest art galleries, museums and quilting events: a wonderful opportunity for the artists to showcase their work internationally!

Tribes

This year, with the theme Tribes, explore the essence of community, family and tradition through the cultures of each of the selected artists. More than 90 participants submitted their interpretations of this theme to the 3 judges of the edition: Carolyn L. Mazloomi, Daisy Aschehoug and Susan Vogel. The 30 selected works will be exhibited for the first time at EPM before embarking on a long journey around the world.

Immerse yourself in the cultural heritage of tribes from around the world, from the Great Plains Indians to the Quechuas and the Inuits. Let yourself be captivated by the colors, patterns and stories told by each finalist quilt.

For the first time, a People’s Choice Award will be presented! To cast your vote, drop your ballot in the ballot box at the Pavillon Osmont on Thursday, September 14!
