The European Patchwork Meeting

The European Patchwork Meeting is a leading cultural event on the European continent.
Every year in September, thousands of visitors from the four corners of the globe come together for 4 intense days devoted to the arts of thread.

Enthusiasts, experts and the curious alike discover over 35 exhibitions by internationally-renowned artists and collectors: every year, over 1,000 works are on display at the 17 venues that make Val d’Argent (Silver Valley) the textile arts capital of Europe!

An open-access sales area features around a hundred stands selling top brands and the latest novelties: sewing and quilting machines, threads, haberdashery, patchwork fabrics, fleece, literature, magazines, accessories and much more!
Every year the European Patchwork Meeting (EPM) also offers a rich program of workshops and seminars, with expert teachers keen to pass on their knowledge and techniques.

A unique event in the heart of an atypical valley: Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines, Sainte-Croix-aux-Mines, Lièpvre and Rombach-le-Franc form an area with a singular mining and industrial history: a major centre for the extraction and exploitation of silver and other minerals, then a spearhead for the textile industry until the end of the 20th century, it was also for its greenery and natural landscapes that the Anabaptists chose it in the 17th century to develop their farming and woodworking activities, before migrating to the United States and discovering the art of patchwork and quilting.
