PatCHquilt

PatCHquilt is the Swiss Quilters Association. They aim at supporting all Swiss makers in their patchwork, quilting and textile art projects.

Their goal is to promote mutual contacts between the members and further develop the knowledge and appreciation of textile art within the country.

PatCHquilt is the central point of contact for national and international calls for applications, competitions, courses and exhibitions.

Switzerland’s cultural and linguistic wealth is mirrored in the Swiss Quilters Association, with French, German and Italian speaking members and a very wide array of textile techniques and creative sensibilities reflected.

In 2024, they are celebrating their 35th anniversary and have organized Round Bobbin, a fun and creative challenge.

Round Bobbin Invitational Challenge

For its 35th anniversary, PatCHquilt invited all European guild members to apply for an identical 12 cm wooden bobbin. The 35 tiny mixed media blocks that make the long ribbons are based on the traditional themes of wedding anniversary gifts. This juried exhibition is the European premier of the collection.

Not one bobbin is like the next, every type of textile technique is represented, from weaving to embroidery to batik.

With more than 500 crafters and 15,000 images from 16 countries, there is really something for everyone.

The long ribbons will be suspended and will hang from the St-Joseph Chapel ceiling, creating a forest of beautiful textile images to walk through.
