Malgorzata Joanna Jenek

Malgorzata Joanna Jenek is a quilt designer and teacher, originally from Poland and now living in Germany. Sewing and dressmaking was her passion since she was a little girl. She started with clothes for her dolls. A few years later she created thousands of clothes pieces for her friends and herself.

Patchwork and hand appliqué became her biggest passion and a particularly beautiful kind of “meditation with fabrics and colors”, especially if all of her quilts and quilted designs were made by hand. Each of her quilts will tell you their own story, you just have to open your eyes and let the fabrics speak.

Traditional Quilts: stories written in fabric

The current times are marked by haste and often stress, and every day we forget about the beauty hidden in the small but fleeting moments of everyday life. It is said that beauty lies in simplicity, we just need to remember it…. Malgorzata’s (aka Margott’s) quilts reveal stories about dreams, dressed in idyllic and seemingly infantile pictures painted with fabric, under which are hidden messages for all those sensitive to beauty.

They tell of the harmony that the world has often longed for lately and of peace in the hearts of all people….

F. Dostoevsky once wrote “Beauty can save the world”. Since 2012 she has been creating quilts with this motto in her heart.
