Marina Landi

Marina Landi

Marina Landi originally graduated in fine arts.

She worked for many years making decorative mosaics for large areas such as walls, swimming pools and also pieces of furniture.

Around the year 2000 she discovered patchwork and fell in love with this art, which has a lot in common with mosaic. It was then that she applied her previous knowledge, experience and technique to create her artistic quilts.

For more than 20 years she has dedicated herself exclusively to this art and also teaching her technique. Since 2016 she has worked in partnership with Valeria Cervetto, developing projects, designing fabrics, classes and also quilting her works. Her works have vibrant colors and almost always represent human figures conveying their expressions and feelings on small pieces of fabric.

Expressions

This exhibition is composed almost entirely of human faces and characters for which Marina is well known.

She tries to convey expressions and feelings through various techniques such as felting, couching, mosaic, painting and appliqué using varied materials such as pure hand-dyed silk, painting, lace, wool, and threads.
