Sharon Nicholls Thomson

Sharon Nicholls-Thomson has been making quilts since her teenage years and holds qualifications in Visual Arts Education.She has spent the past 18 years designing quilt projects and teaching patchwork across Australia, where she also runs a fabric business and travels regularly to teach.Her work spans a wide range of styles—from traditional quilts entered in guild exhibitions, where she is an active and committed member, to machine-stitched textile art pieces shown in commercial art galleries.Sharon’s creative versatility and passion for technique have made her a respected voice in the quilting community.Her quilt designs have been published in Australian magazines, and she regularly serves as a quilt show judge.She has also been a tutor at the Australasian Quilt Convention in Melbourne for two consecutive years and exhibited one of her quilts at QuiltCon in Phoenix.In 2025, she joins Carrefour’s teaching staff for the first time and looks forward to sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with students from across the globe.
