Maria Paz began teaching patchwork and quilting in person in 2012, and in 2020 she expanded her teaching practice by offering online classes and seminars, which she continues to lead today.Since 2023, she has also been teaching in person at the Floripa Quilt Festival in Florianópolis, Brazil. Her discovery of improvisational patchwork opened up a new creative path, and she now finds great joy in both creating and teaching this free-form approach to quilting.Maria teaches small in-person groups at her studio and also works with a diverse community of online students from across Latin America, including Mexico, Costa Rica, Uruguay, and Argentina. In 2022, she played a key role as one of the leaders of the Chilean exhibition at the Carrefour, helping showcase the country’s creative energy and textile innovation on an international stage. Her teaching style is patient, encouraging, and rooted in a genuine pride in her students’ achievements.Whether in person or online, she creates a warm and supportive learning environment where each student is invited to explore their own artistic voice through improvisational techniques.
