Lorena Uriarte is an accomplished textile artist with over 20 years of expertise in both modern and traditional quilting.Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and based in Sydney, Australia, she is known for her intricate designs, innovative use of fabric, and award-winning colorful quilts that have been exhibited in Australia, the USA, and beyond.Passionate about sustainability, Lorena gives new life to vintage and repurposed textiles by transforming them into unique quilted coats—merging artistry with conscious design.Before dedicating herself fully to textiles, she worked in the culinary world, teaching healthy cooking and running a successful catering business.As a highly regarded educator, Lorena has taught extensively across Australia and internationally in New Zealand, North America, and the United Kingdom.Her workshops cover a broad range of hand and machine techniques, as well as bag-making and garment construction.Her engaging and supportive teaching style encourages creativity, technical growth, and community—empowering students of all levels to explore their own creative voice.
