After several years studying painting at the Institut d’Art Visuel in Orléans, France, Gabrielle Paquin turned to textile art, developing a unique approach focused on striped fabrics.She explores visual rhythms and contrasts by playing with stripes, creating compositions where fabric becomes a graphic language in its own right.Her first major recognition came in 2004 when she won Best of Show at the Carrefour Européen du Patchwork, a prize that marked the beginning of her international recognition.She went on to receive numerous prestigious awards and became a sought-after instructor by quilt clubs eager to expand their skills.Among her most recent distinctions are a selection for QUILT NATIONAL in the USA and the Grand Prize from the Japan Handicraft International Association (JHIA).A highly respected teacher at the Carrefour and throughout France, Gabrielle is known for her expertise, pedagogical clarity, and creative vision.Today, she is a major figure in both traditional and contemporary quilting, recognized for her distinctive use of striped fabrics, which remain central to her artistic identity.
