The International Quilt Museum (IQM) has the largest public collection of quilts in the world. The works come from more than 65 countries and date from the 17th century to the present day. The museum’s mission is to collect and exhibit works representing quilts and quilt-making traditions from around the world and across different eras.The International Quilt Study Center was founded in June 1997 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln when two locals, Ardis and Robert James, donated nearly 1,000 quilts to the university.
