Ramona Conconi is an artist from Italian Switzerland. She creates contemporary quilts with a graphic aesthetic. After her series « SIGNS », Ramona currently enjoys playing with shapes, replicating them and using color to transform them in her series titled « REPETITIONS ».She dyes every fabric she uses or incorporates those of Heidi Stoll-Weber to achieve the widest possible range of value and color gradients.All the quilts presented are created from A to Z by the artist, who not only seeks aesthetics but also enjoys addressing delicate themes of global reality.Michèle Samter has lived and worked near Zurich for many years.Modern art, particularly concrete and constructive art, plays an important role in her life. The privilege of having lived and worked for several years in New York, Mexico, and Singapore has allowed her to discover “other textile worlds.”Her fascination for textile creation and design has continued to grow. During her studies at the Zurich School of Applied Arts (now the School of Design), as well as with renowned artists, she has acquired valuable knowledge over the years.Throughout the year, she offers courses on the following topics: the world of colors, developing your own design, the art of Gee’s Bend quilters, and textile interpretation of modern art. She is committed to ensuring that textile art finally receives the rightful place it deserves in the art world.
