In the beginning, there is a large house, a beautiful sibling group, a huge vegetable garden, a hut, a forest, games, and no television. Justine and Cow grew up in the Val d’Argent, in Lièpvre, at Bois l’Abbesse. After training as a crystal cutter (Baccarat), Justine became known in the valley for her wood paintings. It was upon leaving the valley that textiles entered her work.Like a need to draw in volume, to mend the inert, to bring it back to life. From stitch to stitch, from wire to driftwood, from abandoned toys to broken necklaces, inspired by the encounter with a damask, a cotton fabric, a color, or a curve, she sculpts, she assembles, she embroiders, and she explores. The universe of Justine & Cow is sometimes unsettling but often gentle.
