Inmaculada Gabaldón Aguado is a retired quilt designer from Madrid who started in the world of patchwork in 2010 with her teacher and friend, Juana Castañeda. Although she enjoys creating traditional quilts by hand or machine, she found her true passion in pictorial style. She owes this to her love for painting, which she has practiced since childhood, and as she says, « Now, I paint fabrics. » Her favorite subjects are portraiture, animals (derived from her veterinary profession), and landscapes, especially those of Venice.Through these works, she has received several awards in Spain and abroad, including first prize at Le Croisic (France) in 2019, the special prize from the NACQJ (USA) in 2020, and more recently the « Best of Show » at the quilt festival in Birmingham (UK) in 2022.
