For Gabriele Heinz, the desire to sew her first quilt appeared about forty years ago when she was living in the United States and observing her Amish neighbors making quilts. While sewing full-sized quilts according to traditional patterns, she gradually developed her own artistic way of quilting over the years.Gabriele Heinz not only moved from commercially purchased fabrics to antique and vintage textiles, but also from full-sized quilts to dollhouse quilts, miniature reproductions, and quilts for dolls and cradles, with all the details of their full-sized counterparts.Gabriele Heinz has always chosen to create her own original designs. Her work is strongly influenced by her textile restoration activities for museums and private collectors. This leads her to be very meticulous and places emphasis on her attention to detail.Gabriele Heinz has participated in several solo exhibitions and given lectures on textile-related topics across Europe in the past 15 years.Guided tour: every day at 11:30 AM – FR, EN, DE, and NL
