Ana Helena Abreu teaches patchwork and quilting in São Gabriel, a small town in the interior of Brazil, near the border with Uruguay and Argentina.Since childhood, unable to reach the pedal of the sewing machine, she was already sewing standing up at the age of four, encouraged by her grandmother. Drawn to manual work from an early age, she officially started hand patchwork in 2002.A historian of patchwork, she has extensive experience in creating specific projects for her courses, both at the elementary and advanced levels. Her classes are highly sought after, whether in her home studio or at the various patchwork fairs she participates in, mainly in Brazil. Her fascination with geometry characterizes her style, but all her work is generally created to be used as examples for her classes, as she is a dedicated teacher.
